Intel ships first dual-core Atom processor

Intel began shipments of it’s Atom 330 processor on 8-19-08. Pricing for customers will go live on 8-22-08. The 8 watt processor sports a 1.6Ghz clock speed, 1MB of L2 cache, and support for DDR2 667MHz memory. The processor supports the Intel 945GC Express chipset or as part of the Little Fall2 motherboard.

Lenovo Announces Thinkpad with 13-hour Battery Life

NEWS: Lenovo on 8-18-08 introduced the ThinkPad X200 notebook, and the X200 Tablet PC. The lightweight computers boast a 13-hour battery life, and are powered by Centrino 2 dual-core processors. Prices start at $2200.

Apple Recalls Defective iPhone Power Adapters

Apple has issued a recall of it’s compact USB power adapters. The power adapters are included in the new iPHone 3G models and the prongs on the adapters are prone to snapping. The adapter prongs could break off in power outlets and offer a risk to customers.

Gateway scores good marks and value with the introduction of this 24″ LCD monitor. Though we are not fans of glossy screens the reflection issue is minimal and doesn’t detract from the other qualities of this monitor.
