Apple on October 14, 2008 will once again turn it’s attention to revamping the MacBook line of it’s notebook computers. Rumors abound from laptops made from a brick of aluminum to MacBooks to get a big boost in graphic performance from nvidia.

TiVo Wins DishNetwork Suit

10-06-08. The United States Supreme court refused to hear a patent infringement lawsuit appeal filed by Dish Networks, that TiVo filed against Echostar (Dish Networks) in 2004 in which it won a $73.9 million dollar judgement. Dish has now pledged to pay TiVo $104 million.

Ebay Cuts 10 Percent of it’s Workforce

10-06-08. The mega auction site Ebay.com has announced it will cut 10% of it’s workforce, about 1600 jobs. It includes approximately 1000 full-time workers, and the rest are made up of part-time and contract workers. Ebay.com says it’s doing to do streamline business operations.

RealNetworks Stops Sales of RealDVD Software

RealNetworks has agree to comply with a court-ordered temporary restraining order. It has stopped all sales of it’s RealDVD DVD ripping software.
